            The value of where the digit is in the number.


            Take the numeral 14



            The place value of 1 in 14 is ‘tens’ so it shows a value of 10.


            The  place  value  of  4  in  14  is


            ‘ones’ so it shows a value of 4.


            So, we can say that 14 = 10 + 4



            Each  digit  that  has  a  value

            depending on its place called the


            place value         of the digit.
