Objective: To understand the equal sharing concept of division say 14 by 4
Things We need: Some buttons, a white paper sheet, a few bangles.
Procedure:
(i) Put 14 button on the paper sheet.
(ii) Make groups of buttons of 4 each. Two button are left.
(iii) Put one bangles over each group of 4 buttons leave the ungrouped button.
(iv) Count the number of bangles.
Inference: 14 ÷ 4 Q = 3 R = 2
Quotient = number of bangles = 3
Remainder = number of bottons left = 2
