                                         Multiplication

Nancy went to a park with her friends. There were 12 monkey. Nancy and her
friends gave 9 peanuts to each monkey

Total number of peanuts given to the rabbits = 1 2

                                                        = 12 × 9 × 9

                                                        = 108
                                                                                       1 0 8

            PROPERTIES OF MULTIPLICATION

            1. Order Property : We can multiply two numbers in order but the product

                   remain the same.

                   For example, 8 × 9 = 72 9 × 8 = 72

                                  So, 8 × 9 = 9 × 8

                           Similarly, 2589 × 2691 = 2691 × 2589

            2. Grouping property : We can multiply two numbers in any grouping but

the product of the three numbers remains the same.

                   For example, (6 × 8) × 5 = 48 × 5 = 240

                                           6 × (8 × 5) = 6 × 40 = 240

                                  So, (6 × 5) × 8 = 6 × (8 × 5)

            3. Multiplicative property of 1: The product of any number multiplied 1 is

                                                               62
