Multiplication
Nancy went to a park with her friends. There were 12 monkey. Nancy and her
friends gave 9 peanuts to each monkey
Total number of peanuts given to the rabbits = 1 2
= 12 × 9 × 9
= 108

PROPERTIES OF MULTIPLICATION
1. Order Property : We can multiply two numbers in order but the product
remain the same.
For example, 8 × 9 = 72 9 × 8 = 72
So, 8 × 9 = 9 × 8
Similarly, 2589 × 2691 = 2691 × 2589
2. Grouping property : We can multiply two numbers in any grouping but
the product of the three numbers remains the same.
For example, (6 × 8) × 5 = 48 × 5 = 240
6 × (8 × 5) = 6 × 40 = 240
So, (6 × 5) × 8 = 6 × (8 × 5)
3. Multiplicative property of 1: The product of any number multiplied 1 is
