MULTIPLICATION BY TEN, HUNDRED AND THOUSAND

To multiply a number 10, 100 and 1000. Just put one, two or three zeroes after

            the number.

10 has one zero, 100 has two zeroes and 1000 has three zeroes.

                   For example: 9 × 10 = 90 9 ×100 = 900 9 × 1000 = 9000

                                         85 × 10 = 850 85 ×100 = 8500

            MULTIPLICATION BY TENS AND HUNDREDS

            (i) To multiply a number by 20, 30, 40...., multiply it by 2, 3, 4 and put one
                   zero after the product.

For example: multiply 16 by 7,

                                         16 × 7 = 112 and put one zero after 112 → 1120

                                         16 × 70 = 1120

                                                               65
