Put together 1 thousand (ten squares of hundred), 7 squares of hundred, 2
strips of ten and 4 pieces of one.

5. Put together the ones pieces = 3 + 4 = 7 pieces

6. put together the tens strips = 4 + 2 = 6 strips

7. Put together the hundreds squares = 3 + 7 = 10 squares

Bind 10 squares of hundred with a rubber band to form one thousand. Zero
hundreds left.

8. Put together the thousands = 1 + 1 + 1 = 3 thousands

9. Now there are 3 thousands, 0 hundreds, 6 tens and 7 ones = 3067

10. 1343 + 1724 = 3067
