Division by 10, 100, 1000 (Without Remainder)

For dividing a number with zeroes by 10, 100 or 1000, we remove one, two or
three zeroes from the ones, tens or hundreds place of the number.

For example, 150 ÷ 10 = 15 3870 ÷ 10 = 387

8300 ÷ 100 = 83 8000 ÷ 1000 = 8

Division by 10, 100, 1000 (Without Remainder)

(i) To divide a number by 20, 30, 40, ......

Remove one zero from the ones place of the number and divide the

remaining part by 2, 3, 4, ....

For example, 630 ÷ 90 = 63 ÷ 9 = 7

(ii) To divide a number by 200, 300, 400, .....

Remove two zeroes from the ones and tens place of the number and divide
the remaining part by 2, 3, 4, ....

For example, 5600 ÷ 800 = 56 ÷ 8 = 7

(iii) To divide a number by 2000, 3000, 4000, ....

Remove three zeroes from the ones, tens and hundreds place of the

number and divide the remaining part by 2, 3, 4 ....

For example: 6000 ÷ 2000 = 6 ÷ 2 = 3
