A face is the surface of a solid. Two faces meet at an edge. Two edges meet at a

point known as vertex (vertices is the plural of vertex.)

FACES OF A SOLID MAY BE PLANE OR CURVED OR BOTH

A cuboid and a cube have only plane faces.

A sphere has only a curved face.

A cylinder and a cone have both plane and curved faces.

A cube has 6 square (plane) faces, 12 straight
             Cube:
                             edges and 8 vertices.

             Cuboid:
faces, 12 straight edges and 8 vertices.

Sphere: A sphere has 1 curved face. It has no edge and no

A cone has 1 plane face and 1 curved face. It has
             Cone:
1 curved edge and 1 vertex.

A cylinder has 2 plane faces and 1 curved face. It
Cylinder: has 2 curved edge and no straight edge and no
                             vertex.
