TO DRAW A LINE SEGMENT

Place a ruler pencil box on a paper sheet and pull the tip of your pencil along its
straight edge.

We use a ruler to draw a line segment of a definite length ray 5 cm.

Place the ruler an a paper. Press the ruler with your left hand to keep it in
position.

(a) Mark a point above the zero mark of the ruler.

(b) Mark another point above the 5 cm mark.

(c) Pull your pencil along the edge of the ruler from the zero mark to the 5 cm
mark.
